गउड़ी सुखमनी 148 मनु परबोधहु हरि कै नाइ ॥ दह दिसि धावत आवै ठाइ ॥

मन के पास जो बुद्धि है जो ज्ञान है उसके अलावा उसे और ज्ञान देना ही मन प्रबोधना है । मन में और रोशनी करना, मन को और ज्ञान देना ही मन को प्रबोधना है । हरि के ज्ञान द्वारा ही यह संभव है । संसारी ज्ञान देकर मन को प्रबोधा नहीं जा सकता । संसारी ज्ञान द्वारा मन दसों दिशाओं में भागता है फिर रुकता नहीं है । हरि – नाम द्वारा मन को प्रबोधने से यह दसों दिशाओं में भागने वाला मन टिकाव पाता है ।
ता कउ बिघनु न लागै कोइ ॥
जा कै रिदै बसै हरि सोइ ॥
उसे कोई विघ्न नहीं लगता, उसका रास्ता नहीं रुकता, जिसके हृदय में हरि
बसता है ।
कलि ताती ठांढा हरि नाउ ॥
सिमरि सिमरि सदा सुख पाउ ॥
कलि – कल्पना,
हमारी इच्छा, कल्पना बहुत गर्म होती है । माया की भूख या इच्छा अग्नि के समान ही होती है । जबकि हरि-नाम उसके विपरीत है बिलकुल ठंडा है । माया की भूख गर्म होती है लेकिन नाम की भूख ठंडी होती है ।
इसलिए यदि इस नाम का कोई सिमरन करता रहे तो वह सदा सुख पाता है ।
भउ बिनसै पूरन होइ आस ॥
भगति भाइ आतम परगास ॥
हर किस्म का भय समाप्त हो जाता है और आस पूर्ण होती है । जिस दिन भय का नाश हो गया उस दिन रोग बिलकुल चला जाता है । कोई चिंता नहीं रहती ।
चिंता जाए मिटै अहंकारु ॥ अंग 293
चिंता जाते ही अहंकार रूपी रोग दूर हो जाता है । जब हमारे अंदर का भय खत्म हो जाता है तब इसका अर्थ है कि हमारा रोग ठीक हो गया है । जिस दिन अपनी मर्जी चली गयी उस दिन भय भी नहीं रहेगा । भय अपनी मर्जी का ही होता है कि सब कुछ हमारी मर्जी मुताबिक होता रहे । अपनी मर्जी का त्याग करने से भय नहीं रहता ।
यहाँ अभी एक शर्त और है क्योंकि बहुत से अपराधी भी है जो भय मुक्त होते है लेकिन उनकी अवस्था गुरमत वाली नहीं होती ।
भय मुक्त होते हुए, आत्मा के परगास की भूख भी होनी चाहिए । भक्ति की भूख से अंदर आत्म परगास हो जाता है । गुरबानी के विचार की भूख से अंदर रोशनी ही रोशनी हो जाती है ।
तितु घरि जाइ बसै अबिनासी ॥
कहु नानक काटी जम फासी ॥३॥
इस अवस्था में जाकर अविनाशी पद प्राप्त होता है । उस घर में जाकर बसता है जहां सभी अविनाशी बसते हैं । वहाँ जाकर आप भी अविनाशी हो जाता है । यहाँ तक जम का भय बना रहता है । जम की फांसी यहीं काटी जाती है ।
इन पदों में भव-सागर से छूटने की विधि बताई गयी है ।

गउड़ी सुखमनी 158 साजन संत करहु इहु कामु ॥ आन तिआगि जपहु हरि नामु ॥

हे साजन संत बाकी सब कुछ त्याग कर केवल हरि नाम ही जपो । गुरबानी में हरि नाम समाया हुआ है, इसे समझो ।
सिमरि सिमरि सिमरि सुख पावहु ॥
आपि जपहु अवरह नामु जपावहु ॥
सिमरन करते रहो, सिमरन करते करते सब कुछ याद आ जायेगा कि क्यों हम यहाँ आये हैं, कहाँ से आयें है । सारी राजा राम की कहानी याद आ जायेगी जो अभी भूली हुई है । जैसे जैसे याद आती जायेगी वैसे वैसे सुख होता जायेगा ।
स्वम् भी जपो और दूसरों को भी नाम जपाओ । भक्त स्वम् भी यही करते थे स्वम् जपते थे और दूसरों को जपाते थे ।
भगति भाइ तरीऐ संसारु ॥
बिनु भगती तनु होसी छारु ॥
यदि अंदर भक्ति की भूख हो तभी संसार को तरा जा सकता है । गुरमत लेना ही भक्ति है । गुरबानी को समझना ही भक्ति है । यदि यह भूख लगी रहे तो संसार सागर को तरा जा सकता है । गुरबानी की समझ जैसे जैसे आती जाती है वैसे वैसे भव-सागर छूटता चला जाता है । गुरबानी की समझ द्वारा भव सागर पार हो जाता है । अज्ञानता ही भव–सागर में डूबा देती है । जो भक्ति के बिना हैं उनका तन राख हो जाता है । भक्ति करने वाले तो स्वम् ही शरीर को छोड़ देते हैं । भक्ति करो चाहे ना करो इस तन ने तो राख होना ही है ।
सरब कलिआण सूख निधि नामु ॥
बूडत जात पाए बिस्रामु ॥
नाम हर पक्ष से हर रूप से कल्याणकारी है, सुख निधान है । आदमी जितना माया में जाता है उतना ही डूबता जाता है । जितनी चिंता बढ़ती है उतना ही आदमी डूबता जाता है । यदि डूबता डूबता रुक जाए तो यह उभर भी जाता है । जिस दिन उसे ज्ञान हो गया कि असल में चिंता किस तरफ जाने से कम होती है उस दिन यह रुक जाता है । आदमी अज्ञानता वश यह समझता है कि चिंता माय से कम होगी । आदमी को भ्रम है कि संसारी पदार्थों की प्राप्ति द्वारा उसकी चिंता मिट जायेगी ।
सगल दूख का होवत नासु ॥
नानक नामु जपहु गुनतासु ॥५॥
नाम द्वारा ही सभी दुखो का नाश हो जाता है । नानक कह रहे हैं कि उसके गुणों को जान लेना ही नाम जपना है , गुणों को धारण करना ही नाम जपना है । जिन गुणों की समझ आ जाये वह गुण आ जाते हैं ।

जब आदमी को समझ आ जाती है तब जो कुछ वह बोलता है वह ऊँची अवस्था की बात होती है, जो वह बोलता है वे उत्तम सलोक होते हैं, उसका उपदेश उच्चतम होता है । साध की आत्मिक अवस्था की बात है ना कि उसके बाहरी भेष की या उम्र की । साध के वचन उच्चतम होते हैं । वह स्वम् मुक्त होता है तथा दूसरों को मुक्ति के बारे में बताता है इसलिए उसके वचन उच्चतम होते हैं । जिसकी शिक्षा द्वारा मुक्ति प्राप्त हो जाए, उससे उच्चतम और कुछ हो ही नहीं सकता । उपदेश में जो गुण होते हैं वे अमुल्य होते हैं उनका कोई मोल नहीं होता । साध के वचन को सुनकर ऐसे गुण पैदा होते हैं जिनका कोई मोल नहीं होता । साध द्वारा दिए उपदेश या मत में अमुल्य लाल रत्न जड़े होते हैं । गुरबानी साध के वचन ही हैं ।
सुनत कमावत होत उधार ॥
आपि तरै लोकह निसतार ॥
गुरबानी केवल सुनकर उद्धार नहीं हो सकता । गुरबानी सुनकर समझकर मानकार ही उद्धार हो सकता है । गुरबानी अनुसार जीवन जीन ही कमायी है । वाहेगुरु वाहेगुरु का रटन करना कमायी नहीं है । गुरबानी की शिक्षा पर अमल करना ही कमायी है ।
जो सुनकर कमाई करता है उसी का उद्धार होता है । जिसने सुनकर कमा लिया वही साध है । साध स्वम् तर जाता है और दूसरों को जो सच और झूठ की दुविधा में फँसे हुए होते हैं उन्हें सच और झूठ स्पष्ट कर देता है । जो जप तप भक्ति सिमरन दरगाह में परवान है उसके बारे में दूसरों को बताता है । साध स्वम् मुक्त होता है दूसरों को मुक्ति का राह दिखाता है ।
सफल जीवनु सफलु ता का संगु ॥
जा कै मनि लागा हरि रंगु ॥
जिसका अपना जीव सफल हो गया, जिसने अपना जीवन सफल कर लिया उसकी संगति करना ही सफल है । जो स्वम् डूब गया उसके संगति द्वारा कोई क्या हासिल कर लेगा । जो नकली संत स्वम् डूबे हुए हैं वे दूसरों का क्या भला करेंगे । स्वम् को संत महापुरुष कहलवाने वाला साकत ही है । साकत दूसरों को अपने साथ लेकर डूबता है ।
जिसे जीवन में सफलता मिल गयी हो, जिसने मुक्ति पा ली हो उसी की संगति करने में भलाई है । यदि कोई ऐसा न मिले तो गुरबानी की खोज द्वारा विचार द्वारा भी बचा जा सकता है ।
जिसके मन पर हरि - नाम का रंग चढ़ा हो उसी का जीवन सफल है, उसी की संगति सफल है । जिस पर स्वम् कोई असर नहीं हुआ उसकी संगति द्वारा किसी कोई कोई लाभ नहीं हो सकता ।
जै जै सबदु अनाहदु वाजै ॥
सुनि सुनि अनद करे प्रभु गाजै ॥
जिस पर गुरबानी का रंग चढ़ जाता है उसके अंदर धुर की बाणी प्रगट होती है । अनाहद नाद उसी के अंदर पैदा होता है ।
जब अंदर शब्द-गुरु प्रगट होता है जब अंदर धुर की बाणी प्रगट होती है तो उसे सुनकर आनंद पैदा होता है और प्रभ स्वम् गरजता है सच बोलता है । बोलने वाला गुरदेव ही प्रभ है । फिर सच अकेला ही दुनिया के पाखण्ड के खिलाफ बोलता है । गुरमुख ही ऐसा कर सकता है मनमुख ऐसा नहीं कर सकता ।
प्रगटे गुपाल महांत कै माथे ॥
नानक उधरे तिन कै साथे ॥३॥
महांत :- महा-अंत ( राम गर्भ का अंत ) , सबसे बड़ा अंत । जन्म मरण से छुटकारा । इसके बाद कोई देहि नहीं मिलती ।
देहांत :- केवल (बाहरी) देह का अंत ( जन्म मरण से छुटकारा नहीं हुआ केवल देह(बाहरी शरीर) का अंत हुआ है और जीव अभी भी राम गर्भ में ही है)
जिसे जीवन मुक्त आवस्था हासिल हो जाए, जिसका महा अंत हो जाए उसके ह्रदय में शब्द-गुरु प्रगट हो जाता है । नानक कह रहे हैं कि जिसका महा-अन्त हो जाए, जिसने दोबारा जन्म नहीं लेना उसके साथ जुड़कर उद्धार हो सकता है ।
